Heading Northward

Vacation Day 8

We left our quaint little hotel in Monterey Bay this morning. We're heading back north for the next few days. But before we left, Kelsey requested we find her even more sea glass so we returned to Sand City where I lucked out a couple of days earlier in search of more. We were there about an hour and had some success. She should be happy with the glass we got her.

We drove through a city called Hollister and found a nice coffee shop. It is owned and run by a local church and supports just about anyone that needs help. Here is their website.  http://marshillcoffeehouse.com/

We decided to drive inland on this trip and saw a LOT of farming going on. Orange Groves, lettuce, pimentos, you name it. We stopped at the San Luis reservoir center visitor's center and had a good view of it.

It seems we missed an exit and came through some heavy Friday afternoon traffic but managed it okay. We're staying in Suisun City (pronounced Sasoon City, I know that is weird). Joe called a guy he used to work with here and he and his wife met us at our hotel and we walked over to a very nice restaurant and had a lovely meal. As it turns out, his wife is also a Canadian. We walked back to the hotel and chatted all the way. We have an invitation to come for a BBQ on Sunday so we may just take them up on that.

I didn't take many pictures today. I'm slacking I know. We hope to get to a vineyard tomorrow so I'm sure there will be more pics then.
